Ayush Mhatre was born on July 16th, 2007 in Virar, Maharashtra, India. He was born into a very supportive Marathi-speaking family. His father, Yogesh Mhatre, and mother, Jagruti Mhatre have played a huge role in his life and career.

Ayush Mhatre made his debut for Mumbai in 2024 Irani Cup. In the same year, he caught everyone’s attention after scoring a standout 176 knock in the Ranji Trophy. He was part of India’s U19 team in 2024, and went on to captain the side in 2025.

Mhatre got U19 captaincy in July 2025. And as of now, he had a successful tour of England, where they won the Youth ODI series by 3-2. He then led the team in Australia, where they also won the Youth ODI series by 3-0 and the Youth Test series by 2-0.
