Professional Career:
How Sheetal Devi’s Training Started:
When Sheetal was 13, she caught the attention of the Indian Army’s Rastriya Rifles unit. They provided her with initial support, including education. The unit also arranged medical treatment for Sheetal in Bengaluru. When she was with them, Sheetal received a lot of encouragement from NGOs and actors like Anupam Kher.
The Army unit also helped her get admitted to the sports complex, where she continued training and slowly moved ahead in her sports career.
With their support, coaches Kuldeep Vedwan and Abhilasha Chaudhary noticed her talent. Both of them were impressed by Sheetal’s confidence and chose to train her for a bigger stage.
Sheetal Devi International Debut:
Sheetal Devi’s coach, Kuldeep Vedwan, took inspiration from Matt Stutzman, an archer who shoots using his legs, and started providing training to her accordingly.
